I would like to express in this writing how fascinating this year was for me. I will describe it as a roller coaster, a roller coaster of emotions. I knew that this would be my last year as student coordinator, so when it began, in my mind and heart there was only the yearning to serve as a student in the local and national group to the fullest. Although my time as coordinator would end, my service in CECE is just beginning.

This year has been a year of much learning, and I am grateful for the friendships formed in the community. Being part of the CNE (National Coordination of Students), I had the opportunity to lead some spaces at the national level, facilitating at the National Camp 2023 and the Student Leaders Training in Riobamba. I never felt lonely in the process and I thank God for the opportunities he gave me.

This has also been a year of transition for CECE. Our National Director Ruth is ending her role after many years of service. I remember at the CNE (National Student Coordinator) retreat, amidst laughter, shared experiences and tears in her eyes she told us about the end of her term in that role. We pray for her life and her family. We will certainly continue to support and love Ruth.

This year we explored the book of 1 Corinthians with the theme, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined.” In my university context, we face academic challenges, important decisions about the future, and personal challenges. That motto has been a reminder that, although we cannot see exactly what the future holds, God has an amazing plan for our lives. It inspires me to live with faith, trust and love, knowing that we are under God’s care and direction.

We welcomed Lupita as the new National Director during the last trimester of the year. We are excited for all the work that can continue to be done and have been intentional as a community in showing our support and endorsement.
